Our practice stems from our passion for treating vein disease and helping patients get back to loving their legs! We boast the latest technology and offer the most advanced treatment options. All with minimal discomfort, little downtime and no scarring.

We work closely with each patient and provide treatments ranging from self-care options for pain and symptom management, to cutting edge non-surgical treatments explained below.

Vein Stripping Is Old News

We commonly encounter people hesitant to treat their varicose veins because they know someone who has had their veins surgically stripped; an invasive procedure requiring general anesthesia and an extended painful recovery period. Vein stripping is not an option at The Vein Clinic of Dallas. We offer minimally invasive, state-of-the-art procedures that typically have our patients back to routine activities the same day.

Non-surgical treatment options

Radiofrequency Ablation

Radiofrequency ablation (RFA), also known as Closurefast procedure, relies on heat based damage to the vein, leading to immediate closure. Once the diseased vein is treated, it will gradually undergo complete absorption by the body and disappear over time. Your body will automatically reroute blood flow to normal surrounding healthy veins.

Venaseal

VenaSeal is a medical grade glue (cyanoacrylate) that is administered within the diseased vein using a small catheter. This instantly glues the vein walls together, permanently sealing shut. The sealed vein will gradually undergo complete absorption by the body and disappear over time. Your body will automatically reroute blood flow to normal surrounding healthy veins.

Visual/Cosmetic Sclerotherapy

The gold standard treatment for spider veins. It involves the injection of an irritant sclerosant solution, through a tiny needle directly into the spider veins. This causes them to seal shut and disappear over several weeks.

Ultrasound Guided Foam Sclerotherapy (UGFS)

UGFS is a highly specialized procedure involving injecting an irritant sclerosant solution into the diseased varicose veins under direct ultrasound guidance. This causes the vein walls to collapse, leading to closure. The treated veins undergo complete absorption by the body and disappear over time.

Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA)

Similar to RFA, this process relies on thermal energy based damage to the vein, leading to immediate closure. Once the diseased vein is treated, it will gradually undergo complete absorption by the body and disappear over time. Your body will automatically reroute blood flow to normal surrounding healthy veins.

Ambulatory Phlebectomy

Ambulatory Phlebectomy is the minimally invasive removal of visible varicose veins, through tiny incisions. The procedure eliminates varicose veins through a series of small punctures (as tiny as 1mm) made in the skin adjacent to the vein. This is very different from vein stripping and proven highly effective with beautiful cosmetic outcomes.

Vein Health Services Overview

Below are a few things you can try to help manage your symptoms.

Compression stockings and clothing – Wear support stockings and avoid tight clothing that constricts your waist, groin, or legs. This will help improve circulation and reduce swelling and discomfort.

Diet – Eat a high-fiber and low-salt diet. This reduces strain on your veins from constipation and can help with leg swelling due to water retention.

Avoid sitting or standing for long periods – Try to move around frequently or take a short walk every 30 minutes, which will help improve circulation.

Weight Management – Keep your weight in a healthy range to avoid excess pressure on your legs.

Supplements – Certain supplements and foods including Flavonoids and MPFF may help alleviate symptoms such as aching and painful legs.

Exercise – Exercise regularly to improve circulation, and vein strength.
